Shannon and Bryan are such wonderful people and they were a dream to work with! They are such selfless individuals and the love between them true and full of life. During their engagement session, I knew their wedding day was going to be a blast. We were giggling and joking around and not taking everything so seriously, which is always a great sign of a good time to come. One of my all time favorite shots came from this engagement session.
Their wedding day came and it was a beautiful day with a chance of rain. Did I mention it was not only her wedding day, but also her birthday! We started out at the Crowne Plaza for the ladies so they could get ready. I was shocked as I entered at how pretty Shannon looked in her lace detailed wedding dress. I also couldn't believe she already had it on before I got there! Being an organized person and anxious to get married, she was ready to go an hour in advance. I was greeted by her wedding party who were dressed in chiffon purple and gray floor length gowns which looked great on each and every one of them. They were such troopers, even when I suggested they get in the tub in the suite for a funny group shot. The guys were a blast to be around, who got ready where he grew up with his parents. The guys sported their gray tuxes, vests, and cuff links. Special thanks to Liz who captured the guys all afternoon and helped out all day shooting with me!
St. Anne's Church was already seating guests as we arrived which was decorated by flowers on the altar and their amazing stained glass side wall. Their traditional mass was beautiful as always and we were lucky enough to capture so many moments even from the front which is rare for a Catholic ceremony which includes a lot of kneeling. Their love radiated through the entire church as their loved ones teared up when they finally got to say "I do".
We traveled down to the heart of downtown to take portraits under the Convention Center which was luckily flowing with the waterfall walls and color lights turned on for us. We even got a few shots in with the purple in the background matching their wedding colors. Then we ventured down to the River to see the bridges and Pittsburgh in the background. I love love love their portraits and the genuine smiles coming from these two love birds.
Their reception was back at the Crowne Plaza in Bethel Park which was absolutely divine with details in an ambiance which was incredibly romantic. Their centerpieces were stunning and surrounded by a few candles, and their card box was decorated like their first house! Way too cute. Biggest surprise of the reception was the father-daughter dance that was nowhere near traditional with their duet to a few songs where they broke out their dance moves. It was a hit! Enough rambling about the all the fun, you can see for yourselves below!
