The Pollocks | Mollie + Greg | A St. Augustine's Catholic Church + Grand Concourse Wedding | Pittsburgh, PA

Mollie + Greg’s wedding day has a bunch of stories I always love to tell! First of all, look how much fun that bridal party is!! This photo always makes me laugh, because there was a lot behind the scenes that went on during this time. I was circling and circling to find a spot close by so we could quickly get a few photos on the north shore…if you’re from Pittsburgh, you know how difficult it is to find parking near Heinz Field that isn’t too far and doesn’t cost a bunch…on a Saturday! Luckily, one of the groomsmen bailed me out and the police let me park somewhere so we could make some magic happen!

Their reception at the Grand Concourse was just stunning…drop dead gorgeous! It is majestic yet classic. My favorite moment with these two was when we went upstairs and had some private moments where we really captured some candid moments where the bridal party and no-one else was nearby watching. Those images are some of my favorites!

Overall, it was the perfect day for the newlyweds and we couldn’t be happier congratulating them on a lifetime of love!

The Soncinis | Samantha + Ryan | A Succop Nature Park Wedding | Pittsburgh, PA

Let me start off by saying I absolutely loved EVERYTHING about this wedding. Samantha and Ryan are just so funny, kind, and such wonderful people to be around. Succop Nature Park is definitely my most favorite wedding venue! There are so many beautiful and diverse locations for portraits. The staff was just amazing and so helpful, not only for the wedding party, but for us as well! Just a gorgeous spot to have a wedding that is not only nature oriented, but has the classic and vintage chic look indoor areas as well.

I hope you enjoy these images as much as we did capturing them!

Share in the congratulations to the Soncinis!!

The Alcorns | Ashley + Carl | Fells United Methodist Church + The Event Center at Waterworks Wedding | Pittsburgh, PA

Ashley + Carl were one of the sweetest couples I have ever had the pleasure of meeting in my years of photography. I love the soft romantic details throughout their wedding, and meaningful moments! I have also never been so emotionally moved by a wedding so many times-and many many guests as well.

The getting ready was full of love and prayer, and even a sweet first look, no look. This time gave them some calm before the ceremony as they read each other’s letters, had some time to hold hands, and even a private prayer. Carl had the absolute touching groom reactions I have ever seen when he saw Ashley walking down the aisle. Once the ceremony concluded, there was a sweet remembrance of her dad by releasing butterflies with their guests. Afterwards we headed over to Round Hill Park in Elizabeth, PA for their bridal portraits. It was an absolutely beautiful day filled with blue skies and clouds. We even had some barnyard friend photobombs! The Event Center at Waterworks is a beautiful and bright reception venue. Their first dance was just beautiful and so very special. Carl wrote and performed an original song he wrote for Ashley prior to the wedding, and they danced their first dance as husband and wife together. Ashley also shared a dance with her mother and invited all girls that had their father’s in attendance up for a very emotional dance-not a dry eye in the whole room, including mine. Such a sweet gesture which was very important to them! Their night consisted of a cheesecake bar in lieu of cake and cupcakes, and my goodness just look how delicious! They even ended the night with a sparkler exit!

Congratulations again to the newlyweds!!

The Skrips | Rachael + John | A Pittsburgh Botanic Garden Wedding | Pittsburgh, PA

This wedding was one I was very incredibly excited about! I have worked with almost every one of John’s family members prior, and a large group of the same people. It’s always nice to see familiar faces at weddings we are working…and even a few prior #hopbrides! Rachael and I chatted a lot prior to the wedding, and that helped in making sure we captured everything they were looking for! Nothing on their wedding day could have stopped them from having the most fun and perfect wedding day!

Even though it rained, the ceremony was beautiful under the Pittsburgh Botanic Garden’s clear top tent with their beautiful garden in the background. As soon as the ceremony concluded, family portraits were completed, the sun popped out and the rain stopped just in time for us to ride in the golf cart down to the pond on site! Holy cow you guys, is it beautiful everywhere on Pittsburgh Botanic Garden’s property. Although we were unable to use all the locations we would have liked, this spot was just perfect and gave us some fun variety! And talk about that absolutely stunning bouquet + flower arrangements from Community Flower Shop! The inside of the venue was decorated just gorgeous with lights and flowers everywhere making it impossible to take a bad photo!

Join me in congratulations to the happy family!!

The Burvals | Mary Brooke + Alex | A Heinz Chapel + Duquesne Club Wedding | Pittsburgh, PA

Mary Brooke and Alex are the stinkin’ cutest! Their wedding was sophisticated, classic, and so much fun! Their beautiful Heinz Chapel wedding ceremony in Oakland, minutes away from Downtown Pittsburgh, was the perfect location. We had some great portraits around Heinz Chapel, on Pitt’s campus, and even in some of our iconic yellow bridges! Their reception decor matched their wedding theme to a T at the Duquesne Club in Downtown Pittsburgh. Wonderful details and thoughtful and even meaningful elements were brought together! A live band, a choreographed first dance, and even some rooftop nighttime portrait magic…you don’t want to miss this!

Congratulations again to the Burvals!!

The Toskeys | Kirsten + Bill | A St. Mary of the Mount + Sheraton Station Square Wedding | Pittsburgh, PA

Kirsten and Bill are the greatest couple. We actually already knew Bill pretty well through a friend's wedding we had photographed, so he was already prepped and ready for portraits! Kirsten and Bill have the best style and rocked their sunrise engagement session. I knew their wedding portraits were going to be KILLER!!

So here comes the day, and the guys actually had dug up an upside down bottle of bourbon to start off the day. According to southern tradition, if you bury the bottle a at the wedding site one month before the wedding you will have beautiful weather and no rain! Boy was that true!! The guys had a great time getting ready while the girls were pampered at the Sheraton in their suite. The ceremony at St. Mary of the Mount was absolutely stunning and their portraits overlooking the city were just breathtaking. Their large bridal party made these photos a lot of time, and the ladies shades of blue bridesmaid dressed looked just perfect! The overall theme of the wedding was just so well thought out, captured both of their personalities, and most of all showed how much love Kirsten + Bill had for each other as well as for all their family and friends who had attended. A beautiful wedding day for a beautiful couple. Congratulations again to the Toskeys!

The Searcys | Julia + Jacob | A Phipps Conservatory Wedding + The Smallman Galley Restaurant Reception | Pittsburgh, PA

The first time I met Julia + Jake I knew we were going to hit it off. I couldn't wait for their wedding, which was going to be featuring things that really encompassed who they are as individuals as well as a couple.

I'm going to backtrack for a second to talk about our amazing weekend in Ann Arbor, Michigan capturing their engagement session. They wanted to really capture their relationship in a true way, so we ventured to the pretty outdoors of Michigan at the Arb in the morning at sunrise, and ended up at their rock climbing gym Planet Rock in the evening after they treated us out to dinner! This just shows how sweet and caring these two are. Getting to know them both better that weekend got Nickie and I even more excited for their wedding day, which was even better than I imagined. Special thanks to Emily for helping out toward the end of the evening! Their outdoor ceremony at Phipps Conservatory was just beautiful, they had the best warm + cloudy day for portraits followed by a short trip up to Mt. Washington, and made our way to their reception at the Smallman Galley. Their reception meal featured a 5 course meal, great conversation, and killer dance moves. We were excited to end the evening with a few nighttime portraits right in the Strip District (actually right in the middle of the road). We couldn't be happier for The Seacys and are happy to have them as friends!

The Wilsons | Raquel + Jaison | A Hayloft Wedding | Rockwood, PA

Raquel + Jaison are the couple that knew a long time ago that they were meant for each other. Their engagement session was full of silly noise laughs and lots of love.  They're both so easy going I knew that we were going to have such a wonderful time on their wedding day no matter what!

Their wedding day comes and it's a further drive than we are used to, and I was battling my pain from a surprise surgery a few days prior! Luckily, we had a team of 3 to help out that day and things went great (special thanks to Liz + Kira) . I pull up to the venue, The Hayloft, where their ceremony and reception are taking place, and it is surrounded by so much nature and beauty! Although it rained the whole day...super bummer, we made it a great day and even got gorgeous portraits in a covered area in only a matter of a few minutes. The decor and the little touches throughout their wedding were spectacular and nobody even noticed the weather as they danced the night away! Congratulations to the Wilsons!!
